1 Hurt, Another Killed in Failure-To-Yield Wreck Near Brooklet
NEAR BROOKLET, GA โ A woman driving a minivan declined to yield to a big rig, which resulted in a crash that claimed her life and sent the truck driver to a hospital Friday.
Georgia State Patrol told Brice Connect that the minivan driver was trying to turn left onto the Brannen Pond Connector from westbound Highway 80 when she collided with the oncoming big rig going east on the highway.ย
The truck driver hit the vanโs left front passenger side, and the minivan driver succumbed to fatal wounds, while Bulloch County EMS crews transported the truck driver to East Georgia Regional Medical Center (EGRMC) for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.
The Bulloch County Sheriffโs Office and the Fire Department also responded to the scene. Due to the severity of this wreck, first responders closed a portion of the highway to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation process.
The victimโs identity has not been disclosed.
