Utah Woman Fatally Hit by Speeding Teen Driver in Cumming

CUMMING, GA – A soon-to-be-married woman from Utah passed away when she was struck by a teenager driving at a high speed while walking on a sidewalk Friday. 

The events unfolded around 10 a.m. in the vicinity of Majors Road and Ronald Reagan Boulevard, WSBTV reports. 

Preliminary details from The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office indicate that the 17-year-old teenager, going at a high rate rushing to his high school, tried to pursue a turn and lost control of his car, striking the curb and then rear-ending the woman walking with her fiancé. 

The man (also from Utah) and woman, in town for a wedding, were immediately rushed to a hospital. There, the woman passed away, while the man survived and is recovering.
