2 Hospitalized After Truck Plows Into Alma Seafood Restaurant

ALMA, GA – Customers’ lunch hours were cut short when a pickup truck crashed into Joedy’s Seafood Restaurant, which sent two vehicle occupants to a hospital Friday. 

WJCL said prior to the gray pickup truck plowing through the restaurant, the truck had collided with another vehicle on the 1800th block of U.S. 1. Once those vehicles collided, that’s when the truck was pushed into the establishment. Photos from WJCL highlighted major damage done to the pickup truck’s roof and doors and significant damage. The restaurant’s white-colored exterior walls are majorly damaged and slightly slanted. 

The Bacon County Emergency Management Agency did not clarify whether it was the truck occupants or passengers from the other vehicle who were airlifted to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds. They did, however, confirm that no patrons or restaurant employees were harmed. 

The restaurant owner had not announced any closures to accommodate building repairs. Customers are encouraged to contact the establishment directly.
