2 in Serious Condition After Pickup-Semi Truck Crash Near Gainesville
NEAR GAINESVILLE, GA – A pickup truck driver and a semi-truck driver were seriously hurt following a crash at the intersection of GA 365 and Whitehall Road Wednesday.
Georgia State Patrol told Now Habersham that the crash happened after the driver of the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado failed to yield to on-coming traffic while turning left onto Whitehall Road from the highway and collided with a 2003 Volo semi-truck.
EMS crews rushed the drivers to hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. Georgia State Patrol identified the pickup truck driver as a 26-year-old woman from Commerce and the tractor-trailer driver as a 56-year-old man.
Troopers closed the northbound lanes for over an hour for the scene clearance and investigation period.
At this time, officials confirmed that charges are pending against one of the drivers.
