 2 Lives Claimed, 1 Seriously Hurt in 3-Vehicle Wreck in Lafayette 

LAFAYETTE, GA – Two teenagers lost their lives, and one person was left in serious condition following a three-vehicle wreck on Highway 27 Tuesday. 

The crash happened around 4 p.m., along the intersection of Walker County Industrial Drive and Center Point Road, Fox5Atlanta said. 

The events unfolded when the driver of a grey Toyota Tacoma drifted from southbound Highway 27 into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a gray Jeep Renegade. The force of the crash caused the Toyota to flip over. The driver of a black Nissan Rogue swerved to the left to avoid a crash and ended up clipping the overturned Toyota. 

The Toyota and Jeep driver died at the scene. One of them was identified as an 11th-grade student at LaFayette High School, and the other was identified as a 19-year-old woman who graduated from the same school. Troopers did not specify which vehicles the victims drove.

The surviving occupant was the brother of the 11th-grade student. He was airlifted to a hospital for serious injuries. 

Georgia State Patrol started an investigation and has not released other information.
