2 Seriously Hurt in Pickup Semi Rear-End Crash in Marietta
MARIETTA, GA – A rear-end collision between a pickup truck with a trailer and a semi-truck on I-75 South led two people to sustain serious injuries Thursday.
The driver of the pickup truck was tailgating the big rig and hit the back of the truck, which trapped the vehicle underneath the semi, WSBTV said. The impact caused the pickup truck driver and passenger to get trapped inside the vehicle, which required extrication.
Once the extrication was complete, EMS crews took the pickup truck occupants to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
Georgia State Patrol said the semi-truck was allegedly struck by another truck carrying wooden shipping pallets. The details behind this incident and the extent of the injuries have not been disclosed.
