3 injured in NE Atlanta crash after truck fails to yield to ambulance
ATLANTA, GA – Three people were taken to a hospital Saturday evening when a truck collided with an ambulance in northeast Atlanta, according to Atlanta News First.
The wreck took place on a stretch of Clairmont Road near the northbound Interstate 85 onramp, in the Briarcliff area.
DeKalb County Police said that at about 5:00 p.m., a driver in a truck failed to yield to an ambulance, which was responding to a call. The impact caused the emergency vehicle to overturn.
While the ambulance was not transporting a patient at the time of the rollover, two people in the vehicle, along with a passenger in the truck, had to be taken to an area hospital. No information regarding their conditions was immediately provided.
Following the incident, the driver of the truck was taken into custody for “driving without a license and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.”
