3 Killed, 3 Hospitalized After Calhoun Crash With Semi Trucks
CALHOUN, GA – A collision between three cars and three semi-trucks on I-75 killed three people and sent two to the hospital Tuesday, Local3News reports.
The events unfolded when a driver of one semi-truck, who was traveling in the northbound lanes, had struck a Hyundai Sonata. Moments later, the truck driver lost control of other vehicles and veered across the median, went into the southbound lanes, and struck two other semi-trucks, a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Ranger.
The Ford Ranger caught on fire.
Georgia State Patrol did not say which vehicle the deceased victims traveled in. The two hospitalized individuals are recovering from unspecified injuries.
Crews shut down two I-75 South lanes to put out the fire and reopened one lane at 1 p.m.
