3 sent to hospital following wrong-way crash in Marietta
COBB COUNTY, GA – Three people were injured, one seriously, as a result of a wrong-way collision Monday morning in northeast Marietta, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The two-vehicle wreck occurred at the intersection of Trickum Road and Timberbrook Trace.
Cobb County Police said a 33-year-old Dunwoody man was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Express Van when he veered out of his lane, causing the vehicle to strike the left side of an oncoming 2016 Chevrolet Malibu.
The driver of the Express Van and his passenger, a 47-year-old Marietta resident, were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for minor injuries.
The driver of the Malibu, an 84-year-old man, also of Marietta, was rushed to the same hospital for injuries considered “serious.”
No charges or citations have been confirmed as of this writing, but an investigation remains in progress.
