Men, 27, Lose Lives in Plane Wreck in Paulding Co.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA – Two men, aged 27, both passed away when their 1974 Grumman American Aviation Corporation AA-5 crashed on Wednesday. 

Atlanta News First said the events unfolded before 10:30 a.m. when the flight instructor and flight student were taking off from Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport and eventually crashed. 

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said the airplane was last seen around near Crawford Road, where the plane and the two men were later found. 

Authorities identified the flight instructor as Sungwook Lee from Daytona Beach, Florida, and Jonathan Lara from Powder Springs. 

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board launched an investigation. No other details were reported at this time, although officials do advise anyone with more information about this wreck to contact officials at the phone number listed in the source.
