Pilot’s Life Claimed, Passenger Hurt in Plane Wreck in Savannah
SAVANNAH, GA – A pilot passed away, and a passenger sustained minor wounds when their plane descended from the sky and crashed near Ridgewood Park Sunday.
Savannah Police announced this crash before 11 p.m., indicating this deadly collision occurred in the 200th block of East 66th Street. WPDE’s report also indicates that the plane was a Cessna 336 model, which is significantly damaged, as shown in a photo shared by the Savannah Fire Department.
SPD is responding to a small aircraft accident in the 200 block of E. 66th Street. The pilot is deceased, and the passenger has minor injuries. The FAA will investigate further, no one on the ground was injured.

The area has been blocked off since last night. During this on-going closure, citizens are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as personnel clear the area and as the The Federal Aviation Administration continues their investigation.
