2 Hurt in Multi-Auto Crash With Overturned Truck Near Hartwell
NEAR HARTWELL, GA – A multi-vehicle wreck ended when a Western Star concrete truck overturned, injuring two drivers Tuesday.
Georgia State Patrol (GSP) told Now Habersham that the events unfolded before 3:45 a.m. when a 38-year-old woman driving a Honda Accord, had struck a Chevy Camaro turning left into a private driveway on GA 51, near Sundown Circle.The impact of this wreck, then caused the driver the Western Star truck tp rear-end the Camaro, which led the truck to overturn.
The Camaro driver, a 28-year-old Hartwell woman was spared from physical harm, while the Accord driver, a 38-year-old woman, and the truck driver, a 25-year-old man, who are both Hartwell locals, were sent to separate hospitals.
Medical helicopter personnel transported the 38-year-old woman to Prisma Healthcare in Greenville, where she is listed in serious condition.
An ambulance took the truck driver, a 25-year-old man, to AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, where he was set to receive treatment for minor wounds.
GSP’s post 52 in Hartwell launched an investigation and has not provided additional information.
