Car Driver Dies After Hitting Pickup Truck Head-on in Rome

ROME, GA – A Nissan Armada driver drifted off eastbound Highway 411 and went into the westbound lanes, resulting in them hitting a Ford pickup truck head-on and their death Friday. 

This collision happened before 6:45 a.m., Weisradio said. Upon arrival, Rome Police shut down the westbound bound lanes between Highway 411 and Turner Chapel Road to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation process. 

The Ford driver and their passenger, a minor, suffered numerous serious wounds, but police did not state if they were hospitalized or provide an update on their current conditions. 

At this time, police have not stated the contributing factors behind this wreck or stated the victim’s age, gender, and place of residency.
