Pursuit Ends in Wreck in Columbus That Kills 18-Year-Old Teen
COLUMBUS, GA – An 18-year-old teenager from Talbotton passed away after a pursuit turned crash that happened on Georgia State Route 22 Wednesday.
Ledger-Equirer said the details behind this pursuit are unknown but it ended when Georgia State Patrol conducted a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT), which causes any vehicle to turn 180 degrees and is used to put a stop to any vehicle fleeing from law enforcement. Once the 18-year-old’s car it caused the vehicle to come to rest and crash. First responders rushed the young adult to a hospital in Columbus where they passed away.Â
