Accident Closes Section of Northbound I-285 in SW Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA – Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a wreck Tuesday morning on Interstate 285 in southwest Atlanta, according to 11Alive.
The incident forced a closure of all northbound lanes approaching Exit 5A toward Campbellton Road. It was first reported by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) at around 4:30 a.m.
No information indicating the circumstances of the event has been made available, but by 5:15 a.m., a traffic backup had formed, stretching down to Camp Creek Parkway one exit back.
Local officials have not announced any significant injuries and/or hospitalizations following the crash.
