Car Strikes Tree off Icy Road in Athens, Claiming Woman’s Life

ATHENS, GA – A 33-year-old woman lost her life when she crashed her 2003 Chevy TrailBlazer into a tree after encountering a patch of ice on Danielsville Road Wednesday. 

The solo collision happened before 4:15 p.m. along Harve Mathis Road, WSBTV reports. Athens-Clarke Police said the woman’s car slid and drifted off the road prior to the wreck.
