Update: Teens To Face Charges For Crashing Stolen Car In Downtown Atlanta
DOWNTOWN ATLANTA, GA – Police confirmed that charges are officially pending for the four teenagers responsible for stealing their mother’s car and then crashing it Tuesday.
New details from Atlanta News First indicate that the teenagers had run a red light on Memorial Drive and ignored an officer’s order for them to pull over prior to the wreck.
Police initially said the teenagers crashed into a barrier but later confirmed it was a tree. The juveniles appear to have sustained moderate wounds and were sent to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Charges are also anticipated to be filed against the minors’ parents as well. The specifics of the parents and teenagers, as well as the juvenile’s ages, have not been disclosed.
