Failure To Stop Leads to Fatal Semi Crash in Hazlehurst
HAZLEHURST, GA – A 52-year-old woman driving a Volvo big rig had failed to stop at a stop sign and struck another truck, claiming her life and a man’s on Wednesday.
The collision happened at the intersection of GA 19 and Ira Graham Road, according to WALB. Georgia State Patrol said the woman had hit the left side of the other truck specifically. Upon arrival, authorities declared the woman, a Douglas resident, dead at the scene while crews took the other truck driver to Jeff Davis Hospital.
The other motorist, a 52-year-old man from Appling County, passed away at the medical facility.
Troopers launched an investigation and have not disclosed the contributing factors at this time.
