Teen’s Life Claimed After Car Hits Tree Near Watkinsville

NEAR WATKINSVILLE, GA – A 17-year-old teenager driving a 1987 BMW lost his life after he drifted off Colham Ferry Road South and crashed into a tree Thursday. 

The collision happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Colham Ferry Road and Essex Road, according to Athens Banner-Herald. 

Georgia State Patrol identified the victim as an Oconee County High School student. 

Troopers have not confirmed why the teenager lost control of his car.
