Driver Hits I-285 Barrier in Atlanta After Metal Falls off Semi-Truck
ATLANTA, GA – A tractor-trailer driver plowed into an I-285 West concrete barrier after the truck lost a load of metal Friday, Atlanta News First said.
The strap used to hold the truck’s cargo came undone, which caused the metal to spill and scatter onto a road, blocking the majority of the lanes. A female Tesla driver who traveled behind the truck was not struck by any of the materials and was spared from injuries.
Crews reopened part of the freeway around 7:40 a.m. to accommodate the morning flow of traffic.
It is unclear if the truck driver was injured.
