Driver injured in hit-and-run crash at Marietta home
COBB COUNTY, GA – A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning in Marietta after crashing a car into a home and then fleeing the scene, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The incident took place in the 1500 block of Blanche Drive, prompting an emergency response just after 5:00 a.m.
Preliminary information and photos taken at the scene indicate the man in his 40s was driving an SUV when it slammed into a residence.
Despite heavy damage to the vehicle and to the home, the driver fled the scene. Not long after, he was discovered in the area of a nearby business.
Officials say the male driver, who suffered injuries in the collision and was observed to be in an “altered state,” was transported to a local hospital.
It’s unclear at this time what charges the driver may be facing, but neighbors who were interviewed by FOX 5 said the impacted residence may have sustained foundational damage.
