Woman Hospitalized After Hit-And-Run Crash in Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, GA – A woman was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run crash that happened Tuesday.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office told Access WDUN that the events unfolded around 8 p.m. when an SUV driver lost control of his vehicle while driving on Price Road. He veered off the road and crashed into a utility pole.Â
The SUV driver, a 19-year-old man local to Gainesville, immediately fled the scene on foot.
First responders rushed to the scene. After arriving, fire crews had to extricate a female passenger from the car. Once the extrication was completed, EMS crews transported the woman to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. She has since been released.
Authorities shut down the road from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. for the clean-up process and to allow Jackson EMC to replace the damaged pole.
Deputies are actively working to find the hit-and-run suspect. Once he is found, he will likely face several charges.
