Accident blocks part of westbound Canton Rd Connector in Marietta
COBB COUNTY, GA – Authorities were dispatched to a collision late Thursday morning that closed part of Canton Road Connector Northeast in Marietta, according to Cobb County DOT.
The wreck occurred on the westbound lanes at Sandy Plains Road and was first reported at 11:55 a.m.
While no information about the circumstances of the event has been released, a photo captured by a traffic camera indicates at least two passenger cars were involved. It was not immediately apparent whether anyone was seriously hurt.
Motorists in the area were urged to avoid the scene.

By 12:26 p.m., about 30 minutes after the initial report, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
