Accident closes section of SR-16 in Coweta County

COWETA COUNTY, GA – Authorities responded to a vehicle wreck Wednesday morning that blocked part of State Highway 16 near Newnan, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The accident happened at George Hill Road (mile marker 15.22) and was first reported shortly before 10:37 a.m.

No information regarding the circumstances of the event has been shared, but all eastbound and westbound lanes in the area were shut down as a result.

By 11:42 a.m., more than an hour later, crews had cleared the scene, leaving all lanes open to the public.

COWETA CO.- All lanes blocked on SR 16 E/W at George Hill Rd.(mm 15.22) due to a crash.
