Accident partially blocks westbound US-78 in Stone Mountain

DEKALB COUNTY, GA – Authorities responded to a collision Friday afternoon that closed two lanes on U.S. Highway 78 in Stone Mountain, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The accident took place on the westbound lanes at Exit 8 to Jefferson Davis Drive, at Stone Mountain Park. It was first reported by GDOT at 1:26 p.m.

No information regarding the circumstances of the wreck was immediately provided, but the left and center lanes were initially blocked for. After a short while, the left lane was reopened and then the right lane and center lane were closed until 2:00 p.m.
