Alleged DUI driver causes crash that injures deputies, detainee in Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA – One driver was said to have been impaired when they rear-ended a Clayton County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and another car, injuring the two deputies and a detainee Thursday.
This collision happened before 5:15 p.m. at the Forest Parkway and Southridge Parkway intersection, according to Atlanta News First. Georgia State Patrol said the allegedly intoxicated driver did not stop in time when they allegedly struck the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office vehicle, a 2021 Dodge Charger, who was behind the 2020 Chevrolet Trax vehicle.
First responders said the deputies and detainee from the patrol car were hospitalized at Grady Memorial Hospital for unspecified wounds. Troopers have not specified their current condition.
No charges were reported at this time.
