Alleged DUI driver causes deadly fiery wreck in Lenox
LENOX, GA – A driver of a Chevrolet Corvette was suspected of driving drunk when he hit a Hyundai Kona, leading the Hyundai to catch fire and killing a 22-year-old woman Sunday.
This deadly wreck happened after midnight on I-75 North near mile marker 49, according to WALB. The 22-year-old woman, the Hyundai driver, could not escape her fiery vehicle and perished at the scene.
The Chevrolet driver (who was confirmed to be at fault, Georgia State Patrol said) sustained severe wounds and was hospitalized at Tift Regional in Augusta. The man, whose age was not mentioned, is set to face criminal charges (which were unspecified at this time)
Georgia State Patrol started an investigation and has not released other information at this time.
