Altercation at Dunwoody Bar Leads to Injury Hit-And-Run Crash
DUNWOODY, GA – Two men got into a physical fight at The Bird, a sports bar, which led to a hit-and-run collision that sent one of them to a local hospital Friday morning.
The Georgia Sun said the events unfolded before 2:30 a.m. when a man in his mid-40s was sitting with a woman at a table. Another man had gone up to the seated woman and attempted to touch her arm. This led to an argument between the two men and then a physical fight.
Staff members had broken up the altercation and told the two men and the one woman to leave. As the man in his 40s and woman were walking to their car, the driver of an unspecified vehicle struck the man before driving away. Police and EMS crews hurried to the scene.
Ambulance crews rushed the man in his 40s to Grady Hospital.
Police did not confirm if the hit-and-run driver who ran over the man in his 40s was the same man who had attempted to touch the woman and who was involved in the fight.
Patrons at the bar claimed they heard shots of gunfire. However, after an initial investigation, evidence indicated no signs of any gunfire.
Officers did not identify the involved parties, indicate what the hit-and-run suspect and their vehicle looked like, or mention an arrest or charges.
