At least 1 left hurt after crash on I-75 at GA-5 in Marietta
COBB COUNTY, GA – Authorities responded to a collision early Thursday on Interstate 75 in Marietta that injured at least one person, reports 11Alive.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), emergency crews were dispatched to the scene on the southbound highway near State Route 5 and Canton Road Northeast (Exit 267) at about 3:11 a.m.
Marietta Police Department confirmed at least one person suffered injuries, but the severity of their condition was not immediately clear. No information regarding the cause and nature of the collision, or the number of vehicles involved, has been shared.
Roads in the area were expected to be blocked off for around three hours. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes, as those passing through the area were forced to divert onto Highway 5. Highway 41 was recommended.
As of this writing, officials have not indicated any pending charges or citations.
