Authorities respond to collision on US-41 in Gordon County

GORDON COUNTY, GA – A section of U.S. Highway 41 was closed in both directions near Calhoun early Wednesday afternoon following a crash, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The collision took place at mile marker 0, near Stone Loop Southeast, and was first reported at 12:27 p.m.

Authorities have not specified the circumstances of the event or how many vehicles were impacted, but the scene was not expected to clear until about 1:00 p.m., and motorists were warned of delays.

At 1:26 p.m., nearly an hour after the initial report, crews had cleared the accident and all lanes were restored to traffic.
