Authorities respond to train vs. tractor-trailer crash in McDonough
HENRY COUNTY, GA – A crash involving a train and a tractor-trailer was reported Wednesday morning on the railway tracks off Old Griffin Road in McDonough, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The incident took place near the intersections with Macon and Griffin streets. A SkyFOX 5 crew flew over the scene in a helicopter just after 7:00 a.m.
At this time, no information regarding the circumstances of the crash has been made available, but part of Macon Street at Old Griffin Road was closed, and motorists were asked to seek an alternate route.
At the time of the FOX 5 report, crews were on the scene working to remove the trailer of the truck from the tracks.
Local agencies have not confirmed any major injuries or hospitalizations in connection with the event. It’s unclear at this time whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited.
