Car, semi hit power poles, causing power outages in Decatur
DECATUR, GA – A driver of a car and a semi-truck struck multiple utility poles along the Atlanta VA Medical Center, leading to some power outages in the area Saturday.
Decaturish said this collision happened around 4:30 a.m. on Clairmont Road as the driver of the car drifted off the road to avoid striking a pedestrian, causing them to hit one pole, while the semi-truck driver “passing by” struck three additional utility poles.
Despite the nature of this crash, no one sustained any injuries.
Crews closed several lanes so they could restore power and clear the scene.
