Child Dies, 6 Injured After Dekalb Co. 3-Auto Collision

DEKALB COUNTY, GA – An 11-year-old child lost their life, and seven people are recovering from a variety of injuries after a three-vehicle wreck Monday. 

Fox 5 Atlanta said the events unfolded before 3 a.m. when the driver of an SUV struck a median on I-20 West, was struck by another vehicle, and then crashed into a third automobile. 

EMS crews sent the 11-year-old child, a 9-year-old kid, and six adults to Arthur M. Blank Hospital. There, the 11-year-old passed away while one was in critical condition. 

It appears the adults were released from the medical facility, while the surviving juvenile remains at the hospital. 

​​DeKalb County Fire crews said two people were trapped inside their vehicle. They did not say if the individuals self-extricated or if the firefighters themselves freed them.
