Driver Injured After Big Rig Rollover Collision in Stonecrest
STONECREST, GA – A big rig driver was hospitalized for moderate injuries after a rollover collision on I-20 West near Panola Road Friday.
Fox5Atlanta said the events unfolded around 3 a.m. when the big rig operator struck a car parked on the shoulder and partially blocked a right lane. The truck immediately overturned and lost some materials that had been loaded onto it.
Hazmat crews were summoned to the scene for the clean-up process. After arriving, workers closed a few lanes for the continued scene clearance procedure and authorities’ investigation of the crash.
During closures, commuters were asked to use Covington Highway as an alternative route.
