DUI Driver Causes Deadly Multi-Vehicle Wreck in Richmond Hill
RICHMOND HILL, GA – Georgia State Patrol confirmed that a driver of a GMC Acadia was impaired when they caused a three-vehicle wreck that claimed one life Friday.
GSP told WTOC the crash happened on Highway 17 South when the GMC Acadia rear-ended a Kia Soul and then lost control of their car, pushing them to strike a Toyota Highlander waiting at a stop sign at the intersection of Ponderosa Rd. and GA 25. Â
Troopers arrived at the scene before 4 p.m. and declared the Kia Soul’s front seat passenger dead at the collision site. Crews shut down southbound traffic along Summers Boulevard and reopened the area around 6:20 p.m. During these closures, officials redirected drivers toward I-95 South.
At this time, authorities did not disclose the victim’s age, gender, and place of residence nor did they comment on any pending criminal charges. These details, along with other pertinent information concerning this crash, will be added once our news team learns more.
