Failure To Yield Causes Crash That Kills Motorcyclist in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, GA – An SUV driver failed to yield while turning left, causing a collision that killed a male motorcyclist Tuesday. 

According to Fox5Atlanta, the left-turn crash occurred before 7:45 a.m. at Old Cornelia Highway and Jesse Jewell Parkway and warranted a response from Georgia State Patrol and EMS crews. Paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he later died. 

GSP identified the motorcyclist as a 54-year-old man, a teacher, and a baseball and softball coach at East Hall High School. 

Troopers said that no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
