Female pedestrian hospitalized after Effingham Co. crash 

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, GA – A female pedestrian was rushed to a Memorial Trauma Center in Savannah after she was run over by a vehicle last Saturday. 

Around 11 a.m., the woman began crossing southbound GA Highway 21 when she was hit, according to the Effingham Herald. Additional information from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office showed that the woman was “struck two feet into the travel lane.” 

The woman is currently recovering from serious wounds 

Deputies did not confirm whether the driver, who stopped after colliding with the woman, would face charges or citations. They are continuing to investigate the specifics of this collision and have not released additional details at this time.
