Fiery Semi Rollover Wreck in Clarksville Sends 2 to Hospital
CLARKSVILLE, GA โ Two people had to go to a hospital after their semi-truck crashed, overturned, and caught on fire on John Wood Road Friday.
Now Habersham said the collision happened before 3 p.m. along GA 15. The two people inside the truck were able to escape the fiery vehicle and required no extrication from fire crews. One of the occupants was taken to a hospital via a private vehicle, and the other in a traditional ambulance vehicle.
One person is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, while the otherโs current physical condition has not been disclosed.
The truckโs front cab was significantly damaged, and the roof was moderately damaged.
Georgia Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Motor Carrier Compliance Division said that the truck was carrying steel at the time of the wreck. Since steel is a very reactive material, it took crews more than an hour to extinguish the flames safely.
