Gainesville Man Arrested for Fatal Browns Bridge Road Wreck
GAINESVILLE, GA โ A 60-year-old man was arrested after causing a collision that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman from Cumming Saturday.
The collision occurred on Browns Bridge Road near Cherry Circle, 11 Alive reports.
Preliminary details show that the 60-year-old man, a local, and the 24-year-old man were driving in the right lane at the same time. The local man tried to overtake the 24-year-old man and clipped the young man’s car in the process. Once the vehicles collided, the 24-year-old man lost control of his steering wheel and crashed into a utility pole, which caused his car to overturn.
The young man and woman succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Hall County deputies booked the 60-year-old man into the Hall County Jail. The man faces the following charges: two counts of first-degree vehicular homicide, two counts of aggressive driving, racing, and reckless driving.
