Head-on Wreck in South Fulton Sends Drivers to Hospital
SOUTH FULTON, GA โ One driver had crossed some lanes on Old National Highway near Burdett Road, leading to a head-on wreck that sent both motorists to the hospital Wednesday.
This crash involved a red pickup truck and a white van. When the vehicles collided, the driver of the van was pinned and required extrication by fire crews, FOX5Atlanta said.ย
Officers had shut down at least one lane to accommodate the scene clearance process. While the contributing factors are still under investigation, police did note that crashes on Old National Highway are frequent. Officers said more police presence is going to be extended, especially with the holidays approaching, with the hope that collision rates could be decreased. A grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is also supposed to help form a HEAT team designed specifically to aid in this accident prevention pursuit.
