Hit-And-Run Driver Sought in North GA Crash That Hospitalized Teens
WHITFIELD COUNTY, CO – As of Tuesday, Jan. 7, Georgia State Patrol (GSP) confirmed they are looking for a hit-and-run suspect responsible for a crash that sent two teenagers to a hospital.
GSP told Fox5Atlanta this collision happened around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, on Cohutta Varnell Road, when the suspect, believed to have been operating a black 2014 or 2015 Honda Accord, struck the two teenagers, both ages 16, riding skateboards.Â
The driver did not render aid and immediately took off, continuing on southbound Cohutta Varnell. After first responders arrived at the scene, paramedics transported one of them by ground to a hospital and airlifted the other to Erlanger Chattanooga.
The juvenile was taken to a hospital by ground and has since been treated for minor wounds. Officials have not specified the current physical condition of the teenager who was flown to the medical facility via a helicopter.
Georgia State Patrol began an investigation and urged the public to contact them at the phone number listed in the initial source regarding this collision and the suspect.
