Male Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Patrol Car in Norcross
NORCROSS, GA – A male pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after he was run over by a Gwinnett County patrol car in the 1700th block of Beaver Ruin Road Monday.
The crash was reported around 1 p.m., according to Fox5Atlanta. The on-duty officer who struck the pedestrian said the walker was walking outside of the crosswalk when he was hit.
The police officer tried to conduct CPR on the walker prior to EMS crews pulling up to the scene. Ambulance personnel transported the male pedestrian to a hospital. The victim had succumbed to fatal wounds prior to arriving at the hospital.
Georgia State Patrol and Gwinnett County Police started an investigation. They have not released additional information, including whether the officer could face charges.
