Marietta PD Arrests DUI Driver After Crash With Train
MARIETTA, GA – Police arrested an impaired 22-year-old man after a crash between a black car and a train reported at 3:45 a.m. Monday.
Local police told Fox 5 Atlanta that train struck the unoccupied black sedan at the intersection of Waverly Way and Powder Springs Street. The black car was significantly damaged, while the driver, the 22-year-old man, was spared from injuries.
Police learned during their investigation that the young man had stopped his car on the railroad tracks and exited the vehicle. Officers confirmed the man was intoxicated and arrested him for a DUI and making an illegal stop. They booked the man into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. There has been no mention of his release.
No serious injuries were reported.
