MARTA officer, 1 other injured in crash at Adair Park intersection
ATLANTA, GA – Two people, including a MARTA police officer, were hurt due to a collision early Tuesday in southwest Atlanta, according to Atlanta News First.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Lee Street and West Whitehall Street, shortly after 12:45 a.m., when the MPD officer was en route to Garnett Station to provide backup for another officer.
Few details have been made available, but Atlanta Police said the responding officer had the lights and sirens activated when their department vehicle entered the intersection, where it collided with another unspecified vehicle.
The officer and the other driver, both of whom sustained non-life-threatening injuries, were transported to an area hospital.
MARTA police continues to investigate. No pending charges or citations have been reported at this time.
