Motorcycle vs. car crash leaves 2 critically hurt near Kennesaw State University

COBB COUNTY, GA – Two people suffered critical injuries when their motorcycle collided with a car Sunday night near Kennesaw State University, leaving another person hurt, reports 11Alive.

The wreck took place on Chastain Road at Barrett Lakes Boulevard, just south of the university in northeast Kennesaw. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 9:45 p.m.

According to a preliminary investigation, a man was operating a black 2024 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle and was carrying a passenger as he drove east on Chastain toward the intersection. A white 2017 Lexus ES350 was heading west on Chastain in the left-turn lane when its driver proceeded to turn left on a green arrow, in the path of the motorcycle, which had entered the intersection on a red signal. The bike collided with the Lexus’ right side, causing both of riders to eject onto the eastbound lanes. Officials said the bike went on to overturn on its left side and hit the car, which came to rest in the intersection.

Both riders, who suffered serious injuries, were rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, along with the Lexus driver, whose condition was not immediately clear.

No charges or citations have been reported at this time, but an investigation remains open and ongoing.
