Multi-auto crash in Dunwoody sends 5 to hospital, claims 1 life
DUNWOODY, GA – Five people were hospitalized for non-life-threatening wounds, and one person passed away in a multi-vehicle wreck Monday.
This collision happened before 4:45 a.m. at the I-285 West and Chamblee Dunwoody Road, according to Atlanta News First.
Dunwoody Police said initially, three vehicles collided when one of the drivers stood outside their vehicle and was struck by two of the automobiles. The driver, who was outside, succumbed to fatal wounds, and then a second collision followed when three more vehicles crashed (chain-reaction style) into each other.
Officers closed some westbound lanes and reopened the area.
No additional information, including the victim’s names, has been released.
