Officials Investigate Deadly Car, Tractor-Trailer Wreck in Douglasville
DOUGLASVILLE, GA – Local authorities are investigating the details behind a crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer on I-20 West that resulted in at least one fatality Wednesday.
AtlantaNewsFirst said this collision happened past Chapel Hill Road. After officials arrived at the scene, they closed the westbound lanes temporarily for the standard scene clearance and investigation process and advised all drivers to use GA 278 as an alternative route.Â
Authorities later lifted closures.
Despite the reopenings, Georgia Department of Transportation said delays are still lingering, so drivers should anticipate for a standstill status as they approach the area.
At this time, officials have not commented on the exact cause of this crash nor indicated who passed away.
Updates will be added as new developments are made publicly available.
