Pedestrian struck by vehicle on I-75/85 near Emory University Hospital Midtown
ATLANTA, GA – Multiple lanes of the Downtown Connector near Atlanta’s Sono neighborhood were closed early Wednesday due to a major pedestrian collision, reports FOX 5 Atlanta.
Atlanta Police said the incident occurred on the northbound lanes of the highway (Interstate 75/85) just south of Exit 249B toward Pine Street and Peachtree Street, near Emory University Hospital Midtown.
No information about the victim, their condition, or the circumstances of the event has been disclosed at this time, but several travel lanes were shut down as of 7:40 a.m. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes, as significant delays were reported in the area.
By 8:50 a.m., crews had cleared the scene and the closure had lifted.
