Pursuit-Turned-Rear-End Wreck in Crisp Co. Claims 3 Lives
CRISP COUNTY, CO – A driver of a stolen Range Rover was fleeing from law enforcement before rear-ending a big rig on I-75 on Thursday, claiming the lives of three individuals.
Atlanta News First said Crisp County deputies had attempted to stop the suspect in Houston County. When the individual did not comply, the pursuit began and ended when the driver struck the back of the white tractor-trailer at mile marker 103 on the interstate in Crisp County.
The impact had completely totaled the white car, leaving a significant amount of debris behind. Three passengers inside the damaged vehicle perished at the scene, while the truck driver appeared to have been unharmed.
Georgia State Patrol did not publicly declare the victims’ ages, genders, and places of residence.
This was the second deadly wreck that happened in Crisp County. The day before, on Wednesday, Feb. 19, a wrong-way collision had taken the lives of two drivers. Authorities have not confirmed the contributing factor behind that wreck nor disclosed the victims’ identities.
