Pursuit-Turned-Wreck in Thomasville Claims Man’s Life
THOMASVILLE. GA – A 49-year-old man who was fleeing from law enforcement had died after a pursuit-turned-crash on U.S. 319 Bypass Tuesday, WALB said.
Initially, the 49-year-old man struck another vehicle in Colquitt County. He did not stop and render aid. The driver that was hit had followed the 49-year-old man and called 911. After the call was made, Thomas County deputies followed the hit-and-run suspect, who was going at a high rate of 100mph.
One deputy had tried to pull over the suspect and was unsuccessful. A second deputy then decided to plow into the suspect’s vehicle. The impact of the collision ejected the suspect.
EMS crews took the 49-year-old man to Archbold Hospital, where he died.
